TOWARDS HEALTH, PERFORMANCE AND WELLBEING IN THE WORKPLACE

15 Skills for Managing Stress.

Why are some people able to maintain clarity and effectiveness in pressure situations, while others struggle or falter? Given that stress is a daily part of our lives, how can we best bring forth and make known our innate abilities and resources to better meet day-to-day challenges in such a way that we move towards health, performance and wellbeing?

Studies reveal that people who cope best with stress have a broad range ‘resistance resources’ – cognitive and behavioural practices that enable them to more easily withstand pressure situations. People with a broad range of resistance resources are more likely to:

  • Demonstrate a greater sense of personal control
  • Have increased capacity to perform well
  • Be more effective and productive
  • Demonstrate a greater sense of wellbeing
  • Demonstrate comparatively good health
  • Maintain strong and meaningful relationships

In this one day workshop participants will have the opportunity to make more visible the skills and knowledge that constitute their resistance resources, and have the chance to build on these skills and knowledge by examining cognitive, emotional, physical and nutritional factors that both foster and support health, performance and wellbeing.

Towards Health Performance and Wellbeing is divided into three modules. Each module is experiential, interactive and fun, with plenty of time being provided for the practice of skills and strategies you can do at your desk, while you are out and about, and at home.
